Bump! Set! Spike! Falcon Cove’s volleyball teams start the season strong with two wins for both boys and girls! On Tuesday, December 12, their first game took place in the FCMS gym as both the boys and girls were able to come out on top against the opposing team, Silver Trail Middle School.

After all their hard work put into each practice, the boy’s team was able to take their first win with a final score of 2-0. “One of the best feelings is being able to win after all the hard-working practices with my favorite coach, Coach Giancarlo.” Said determined player Caleb Krivitzkin.

The girl’s team was also celebrating a victory when they won 2-0 against Silver Trail Middle School. “I worked hard at practices, and I’m really happy we came out with a win!”  said outstanding player Isabella Rios.

Although, the girls won their coach Richard Keery thinks there is room for improvement. The team exceeded in strength and height, but their communication could be better. “They need to talk to each other on the court, I don’t want everyone going for the same ball,” said Keery. Nonetheless, we are still very proud of our Falcons!

On Wednesday, December 13 both boys and girls teams were once again unstoppable taking home another win from their rivals at Tequesta Trace Middle School. Everyone on the court played hard and they had many rallies leading them to victory. Defense and serve receive was intense but our Falcons crushed it.

December 13 was the first away game of the season.

Both teams are proud to say that they won two games back to back. The teams try to practice every day, so their consistent practice is paying off!

“Since this was our first away game I’m glad that we started off right!” said team player Ignacio Salaverdia

On Monday, December 16, the teams played against Walter C. Young Middle School. Both boys and girls teams won making our Falcons once again undefeated!

Both students and staff are extremely thrilled with our Volleyball teams; the season is off to a fantastic start!
